Ever get a blooming plant for a holiday? Like a poinsettia or Easter lily?

They are beautiful for the season and then they die down. Plant them outside, we are told.

I have done some of both of them over the years. Never grow. Oh, well, we have to get rid of them anyway.

We had an Easter lily; I know not this year. Maybe not last year. So, I'll say two years ago a few days after Easter, I set out the shriveling plant.

And then there is this year........with not enough rain at times and way too much wind, here in north central Iowa.

At the end of the flower bed is my beautiful Easter lily. Looks like something from a greenhouse!

Just starting to bloom. Right now it has four beautiful white flowers with more to come.

I thought, "The only thing that is wrong is that it is two months too late!"

My next thought was, "No, Easter lilies trumpet the resurrection of Jesus!"

And that is good message for every day of the week and every month of the year.

Jesus has risen!

He has risen indeed!!
