Today is Sunday, August 5th, 2012; Karen's Korner #2375

On Sunday to make up for the one missed on Friday!

Several sayings which could give us 'cause for pause':

Printed on a cloth bag which our friend Tricia purchased for four others of us
who traveled to Washington D.C. together in April to receive our National Make a Difference Day award:

"One person can make a difference and everyone should try."
~ John F. Kennedy

**
"And having thus chosen our course, without guile, and with pure purpose,
let us renew our trust in God,
and go forward without fear, and with manly hearts."
~ Abraham Lincoln
--July 4, 1861 Message to Congress

A portion from a radio message by Dr. David Jeremiah
to which I was listening one day last week.

Since I was in the middle of the broadcast and driving down the road,
I don't have exact quotes.

He was talking about people today 'wishing that they lived in a different,
maybe better time' in our world and culture.
"I tire listening to those comments," Jeremiah said.
"God could have dropped you into any time in history.
It could have been during the Renaissance or any other time,
but he chose you to be alive TODAY!

So thank God that you are alive to
'be a light in an ever darkening world'.
TODAY!!

"We act as though comfort and luxury
were the chief requirements in life,
when all we need to make us really happy
is something to be enthusiastic about."
~ Charles Kingsley
