Today is Monday, November 5th, 2012; Karen's Korner #2436

Two verses which we read together and were used as part of our sermon in church yesterday. I thought they were good ones:

"See what kind of love the Father
has given to us,
that we should be called children of God;
and so we are.
The reason why the world does not know us
is that it did not know him.
Beloved, we are
God's children now,
and what we will be has not yet appeared;
but we know that when he appears we shall be like him,
because we shall see him as he is.
~ I John 3:1,2 (ESV)

Bible Commentary:  As believers, our self-worth is based on the fact that God loves us and calls us his children. We are his children now, not just sometime in the distant future. Knowing that we are his children encourages us to live as Jesus did.

The Christian life is a process of becoming more and more Christlike. This process will not be complete until we see him face to face, but knowing that it is our ultimate goal should motivate us to live more and more like Christ each day.
