Bible Commentary:  "What problems David (writer) faced! He was scoffed at, mocked, insulted, humiliated, and the object of city-wide gossip. But still he prayed. When we are completely beaten down, we are tempted to turn from God, to give up, and to quit trusting Him. When our situation seems hopeless or when we just don't care anymore, we need to determine that no matter how bad things become we will continue to pray. God will hear our prayers and He will rescue us. When others reject us, we need God most. We should not turn from our most faithful friend."
