Today is Thursday, July 25th, 2019; Karen's Korner #4084

It was 20 years ago this coming Sunday (July 28) that our daughter Merry was killed in a car/semi accident.

There were at least two reasons that I began writing and sending Karen's Korners. One of the reasons was that I had saved a handful of emails from Merry which I wanted to share with others. One of the final emails from her was sent to us on Monday, July 26 at 2:43 p.m. About exactly two days before she died.

Because we have so few of Merry's posts and because it is so many years ago, readers have undoubtedly  seen this one before: No matter. It is a good 'walk down memory lane':

"When a mother saw a thunderstorm forming in mid-afternoon, she worried about her seven-year-old daughter who would be walking three blocks home from school.

"Deciding to meet her, the mother saw her walking nonchalantly along, stopping to smile every time the lightening flashed.

"Seeing her mother, the little girl ran to her, explaining happily, 'All the way home, God's been taking my picture!'"
