The sixth of seven exchanges. What we get at the foot of the cross because of what Jesus did for us! Amazing!!

Taken from 'Praying Grave:  55 Meditations and Declarations on the Finished Work of Christ' by David A.Holland:

OUR POVERTY FOR HIS ABUNDANCE

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though He was rich,
yet for our sake He became poor,
so that you through His poverty might become rich."

~ 2 Corinthians 8:9 NASB

"First, He became radically poor the moment He stepped out of eternity and stepped into this fallen, broken, time-bound world.

"Second, whatever possessions Jesus accumulated in His life were taken from Him on the eve of His death. At the trial before Pilate, He had nothing left but the robe on His back, a little physical strength, and His dignity. Soon even these would be stripped away.

"He was poor in every way a person can be. No possessions, no comfort, no defenders, and no friends. Why? So beggars like you and me could become children of the King.

"We come to the cross to make a wonderful, absurd, unreasonable, too-good-be-true exchange. We bring our utter bankruptcy and leave it there, then walk away rich in love, hope, peace, power, and yes, in abundant material possessions for our every need."

"Lord, what an extraordinary Savoir You are. How unfathomable are the depths of Your grace!

"I stand today in awestruck wonder and overwhelmed with gratitude for what You were willing to do for me and every other lost human soul. I declare that because of Your work on the cross, I am amply supplied, have all sufficiency in all things, and can therefore abound in every good work. You humbled Yourself and took on the form of a servant. The fact that You have freely given me all things frees me to do the same. I can serve and give and bless because I have been made rich in every way."
