The seventh, and last, of seven exchanges. What we get at the foot of the cross because of what Jesus did for us! Amazing!!

Taken from 'Praying Grave:  55 Meditations and Declarations on the Finished Work of Christ' by David A.Holland:

OUR DEATH FOR HIS LIFE

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned...For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provisions of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"

~ Romans 5:12, 17 NIV

*
"Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, when they ate 'you will certainly die' (Genesis 2:17 NIV). They ate but they didn't fall over physically dead the instant they disobeyed God's command.

"Physical death became a part of their future and the future of their billions of offspring yet unborn.

"But all this changes when it comes to the cross. The greatest exchange of all -- our death for His life. It is a tragedy of unspeakable proportions when anyone dies without having made that exchange, a tragedy God sent Jesus to prevent. At the cross, Jesus made it possible for us to exchange our death -- in every form -- for His life in every form.

"'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy,' Jesus told us. 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10 NIV). At the cross, we traded our lives of walking death for one in which we are fully alive in every way."

"Father, how amazing it is to know that the power of death has been shattered in my life. Jesus has borne my death, and my spirit has been made alive by Your Holy Spirit. Yes, death once reigned in me through Adam, but I have been to the cross and exchanged my death for Your abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness.

"I declare that abundant life in every aspect is mine-- here, now, in this world. And physical death holds not sting for me, because You have gifted me with eternal life. Thank You for allowing Jesus to die my death, so I can live in Him and He in me. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living, working, and flowing in me."
