Today is Tuesday, August 29th, 2006; Karen's Korner #877

I received this from Chris Lousias on the 4th of July; lots of kinds of freedoms. One kind is internal freedom, which in turn gives us many of the other kinds of freedom.

Chris adapted this from a booklet by Warren W. Wiersbe "What to Wear to War":

Conquering the External, Internal and Infernal Enemy:

Praying on the Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-13 ---   10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

The Girdle of Truth:  "Father, as we prepare for our day, help us to pull things together.  Help us to prepare our minds and hearts for today’s battles.  With Your help Father, we can eliminate any thoughts or habits that would hinder our walk with You.  Give us the conviction of life that leads us in the right direction."

The Breastplate of Righteousness:  "Heavenly King, You who are the Most Righteous, guide us today so we may have righteousness in our words, in our walk, in our motives, and in everything we say and do.  Help us to depend on of the righteousness of God through our faith in Jesus Christ because we can not stand alone against the evil one."

The Shoes of Peace:  "God, thank You for the firm footing we have to stand on through the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Christ and the Salvation He offers us with that Truth.  Help us to be unmoved and inflexible and firmly stand on that unchanging Gospel and enable us to tell others about You because of the faith oe have in You."

The Shield of Faith:  "Father, we relinquish all authority to You so that we will not rely on ourselves and our knowledge, but Father, we put all our trust in You to give us the victory that will overcome Satan and his forces."

The Helmet of Salvation:  "Father, as we don the helmet of salvation, help us to secure our faith that it will protect our minds from the attack of the Enemy.  Help us to emulate the mind of the Lord Jesus Christ as we go about our daily agenda."

The Sword of the Spirit:  "Father, thank You for Your Word.  Thank You for the Holy Spirit who guides us as we read the Word daily.  Thank You for the Helper who unveils understanding of Your Word and helps us to know what it teaches us. Mostly Father, give us the strength and courage to obey what we read, as we live our lives to Glorify You and do Your will."

"We pray this in Honor of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen."
