February 2022 Archives

Printable Issue 4616  Today is Monday, February 14th, 2022; Karen's Korner #4616
(I am back! Well at least for a bit!)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Do we ever tire of hearing that we are loved or having someone say "I Love You!"? Or telling someone we care about that we love them!?

Maybe that is why I like the book "100 Things God Loves About You". I have read it more than once. Pick it up and read several of them before I put it down for another 'dose' later.

Here is one for all of us on Valentine's Day 2022:

GOD LOVES YOU.
(#100)

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."

~ Psalm 139:14

"God loves you simply because you are well.....you.

"He loves your imperfections, your quirkiness, your creativity. He loves that you are courageous, confident, kind. He loves the way you laugh, the way you work, the way you give. And He loves that you trust Him enough to call Him, Lord, Abba, Father, and even Friend.

"God loves you so much, so very much, that He sacrificed His own Son to save you. Because you are fearfully, and wonderfully made....because you are you.....because you are His."

Printable Issue 4617  Today is Tuesday, February 15th, 2022; Karen's Korner #4617
Taken from a graphic in my Bible mid-part of Ephesians:

OUR LIVES BEFORE AND AFTER CHRIST

Under God's curse vs. Loved by God

Doomed because of our sins vs. Shown God's mercy and given salvation

Went along with the crowd vs. Stand for Christ and truth

God's enemies vs. God's children

Enslaved to Satan vs. Free in Christ to love, serve, and sit with him

Followed our evil thoughts and passions vs. Taken from the grave to glory

Under God's anger vs. Given undeserved favor

Spiritually dead vs. Give new spiritual life

**
"For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it!"

~ Ephesians 2:8 (Good News Bible)

Printable Issue 4618  Today is Wednesday, February 16th, 2022; Karen's Korner #4618
You can tell I am enjoying "365 Days of Prayer for Women" by Stephanie Sample. They are all good ones, but I especially enjoyed reading January 28 while I was away from my computer:

WHILE I WAIT

" Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord."
~ Psalm 31:24 ESV

"God, waiting is hard! I look for the shortest lines in the grocery store and the quickest moving lane of traffic, and then I come to you and request the timeliest solutions to all my problems. When you don't answer right away, doubt creeps in.

"Are you listening? Are you there? I need your perfect resolution. Help me remember that you see the big picture, and that your plan is the best possible outcome, which is not necessarily the quickest. Fortify my heart with patience, courage, and strength while I wait. I trust your plan, and I rejoice in knowing all will be well."

"Do you (we) have trouble waiting for the Lord?"

WORDS OF AFFIRMATION
By Max Lucado

"Three years into my role as senior minister of our church, a former senior minister returned to serve on our staff. Charles Prince was thirty years my senior, Harvard educated, and a member of the Mensa society. I was in my thirties, a rookie, and a charter member of the Dense society.

"Charles preempted any stress when he said, 'I’m going to be your biggest cheerleader.' And he was. For twenty-five years, right up until the day he died.

"Such encouragement has a Michelangelo impact on people. The sculptor saw the figure of David within the marble and carved it out. The encourager sees your best self and calls it out with words of affirmation.

"Be an encourager today."

**
Father God in Heaven, I want to thank people in my life who encourage me so much. We all can't be writers like Max Lucado or dozens of other things, but we can be encouragers. Help me, help us, to see opportunities to encourage others! In Jesus' Name. Amen
Printable Issue 4620  Today is Friday, February 18th, 2022; Karen's Korner #4620
(Here we go again:  In and out! Next Karen's Korner will be Monday, March 14! Thanks for sticking with me!)

Karen's Korner readers are familiar with my dog Rocky. Our 12-year-old pug is an indoor dog when I am at my farm home; an outdoor dog when I am not.

In the mornings, I put him outside for a few minutes to run around the outside of the house. When Rocky is ready to come back in, he bounds up my steps and scratches on the door to get my attention.

Then he sits patiently, waiting for me to answer and let him in.

Because I usually hear him and because I always let him in, he just waits! He trusts me!

Lord, will you help me to be more like Rocky? I want to make my requests known to You. But help me to be more patient as I wait for You to answer. You have answered me so many times before. I want to trust You that this time will be no different. So I ask. And then I wait for Your timely answer. Help me!
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
