(Back for a week before I am gone for another week. Never had a winter like this in my life! Thanks for being a trusted Karen's Korner reader.)
I hope that you enjoy "100 Things God Loves About You"; Simple Reminders for When You Need Them Most is the subtitle.
Today's is #58:; it could be for each of us personally or it could be us collectively, as we watch and endure some of the things happening to and in our world:
GOD LOVES THE WAY YOU KEEP GOING
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make our paths straight." ~ Proverbs 3:5 - 6
"Well.........that last minute change certainly wasn't part of your plan. And that crisis? It definitely wasn't on your calendar. What's a person to do?
Hang on Hold on. Believe and trust. "God's got a plan, a good and perfect plan just for you. He can - and will - use this for your good. Somehow and some way. So take a deep breath, say a prayer, and take the next step. Because God loves the way you keep calm and trust on."

It is Lenten season! And all about Jesus' life, death, and resurrection! Might be a little early to think about His resurrection. Or maybe every day is good to think about His resurrection:
"But when they arrived they looked up and saw that the the stone---a very heavy one---was already moved away and the entrance was open! So they entered the tomb---and there on the right saw a young man clothed in white. The women were startled, but the angel said, 'Don't be so surprised. Aren't you looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified? He isn't here! He has come back to life! Look, that's where his body was lying. Now go and give the is message to his disciples, including Peter. "'Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died!'"
~ Mark 16:5 & 7 LAB
*
Bible Commentary: "The resurrection is vitally important for many reasons:
1) Jesus kept his promise to rise from the dead, so we can believe he will keep all his other promises;
2) The resurrection ensures that the ruler of God's eternal kingdom will be the living Christ, not just an idea, hope, or dream,
3) Christ rose from the dead, giving us the assurance that we also will be resurrected,
4) The power of God that brought Christ's body back from the dead is available to us to bring our morally and spiritually dead selves back to life so we can change and grow (1 Corinthians 15:12-19),
5) The resurrection provides the substance of the church's witness to the world. We do not merely tell lessons from the life of a good teacher, we proclaim the reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

An inspirational thought sent recently by Max Lucado: THE ONE AND ONLY
"Jesus invites, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest…let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls' (Matthew 11:28).
"Do yourself a favor. Underscore, underline, and accept this invitation. Jesus says let me teach you how to handle long Mondays and cranky in-laws. Let me teach you why people fight and death comes and forgiveness counts. We need answers. Jesus offers them.
"But can we trust him? Only one way to know. Seek him out. Lift up your eyes, set your sights on Jesus. No passing glances or occasional glimpses. Search the crowded streets and shadow-casting roofs until you spot his face, then set your sights on him. You’ll find the only One and Only!" ******

Yesterday our friend Sandy shared a reading from "365 Days of Prayer for Women", at our prayer group. It seemed relevant to hear, as her listeners, of what is happening in our world and may be happening in our individual daily lives.
BREAK MY HEART
"He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him."
~ Isaiah 59: 16 NIV
"Lord, so overflowing with love, how your heart must break for the suffering of your children! I know you don't need my help ,but I believe it brings you happiness when we care for each other. It's easy to get caught up in my own struggles, but I know they are nothing compared to what some of your precious children are enduring this very day. Bring me a need to pray for, God. Break my heart. Give me the gift of needing to pray, and of knowing just what to say. Let your goodness fill my heart and give me strength to fight fo those who can't."
"Is there someone you (we) can pray for that God has put on your (our) heart?"

(Okay, this is the last time I am going to be gone this winter. I have enjoyed the going and coming. And I will enjoy coming home and staying here for a time. Next Karen's Korner will be Monday, March 28.)
"Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers. And now God gives us the promise of the wonderful Holy Spirit who lives within us when we believe in Him."
~ Galatians 3:14 The Passion Bible
Thank You, Jesus, for the plans You have for all of us as believers in You. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit which resides within each of us as Your Children. You make everything possible.
In Your Name. Amen.

(Okay, I am back for good! And for now! I have enjoyed being gone. But I also enjoy being home and back into a routine! Sending out Karen's Korners might be a blessing to you. But I am blessed to be able to do it! Enjoy!)
Something written by Sarah Young writing "Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence"; daily writings as if Jesus was talking with us, and taken from several Bible verses. It is from her March 25 entry:
"Let thankfulness temper all your thoughts. A thankful mind-set keeps you in touch with Me. I hate it when My children grumble, casually despising My sovereignty. Thankfulness is a safeguard against this deadly sin. Furthermore, a grateful attitude becomes a grid through which you perceive life. Gratitude enables you to see the Light of My Presence shining on all your circumstances. Cultivate a thankful heart, for this glorifies Me and fills you with Joy."
~ Taken from 1 Corinthians 10:10; Hebrews 12:28 - 29

There probably wouldn't be much politically on which we would all agree. But when it comes to 'dictators', we might be in more agreement. Especially those who are most in the news as of late. Like everything, the Bible has things to say about them.
"I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power to help those who believe Him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God's right hand in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, His honor is far more glorious than anyone else either in this world or in the world to come."
~ Ephesians 1:20 - 22 LAB
*
Bible Commentary: "Having been raised from the dead, Christ is now the supreme head of the church, the ultimate authority over the world. Christ is the Messiah, God's anointed One, the One Israel longed for, the One who would set their broken world right. As Christians, we can be confident that God has won the final victory and is in control of everything. We need not fear any dictator, nation, death, or Satan himself. The contract has been signed and sealed, we are waiting just a short while for delivery. Paul says, in Romans 8:37 - 39 that nothing can separate us from God and His Love." ***

An inspirational thought shared by Max Lucado's readers via email on Monday:
TRUST GOD'S PROMISE
"John 3:16. Millions quote it, only a handful trust it. 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'
"Wary of a catch perhaps? Cautioned by guarded friends? Desperation heightens our interest. When he asks for a divorce or she says, 'It’s over.' When the coroner calls, the kids rebel, or the finances collapse. When desperation typhoons into your world, God’s offer of a free flight home demands a second look. John 3:16 morphs from a nice verse to a life vest.
"Some of you are wearing it. For you, the passage comforts like your favorite blanket. Don’t walk away from it. Give God your answer. Ephesians 3:17 (MSG) promises, 'Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in.'”

Another entry from "100 Things God Loves About You" by Tama Fortner. Some people like to be reminded they are Loved. Many. Most. All. Like to hear they are Loved by God:
God loves all the little things about you.
"The very hairs of your head are all numbered."
~ Luke 12:7
""God knows every little thing about you, even the number of hairs on your head. Because He created you. Because He loves you. Yes, every last one of them. That freckle on your check? He put it there ---in just the right spot. That quirky little giggle? God pitched it and placed it there in your heart. You may look at yourself and see only the flaws, but God doesn't. He loves every little thing about you.......yes, even that freckle on your cheek."
