Happy New Year!!

"Sometimes good things fall apart
so better things can fall together."

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..."
~ Romans 8:28

*

"No matter how many mistakes you make
or how slow you progress,
you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying."

"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
~ Philippians 3:13 & 14

*

"Making one person smile
can change the world –
maybe not the whole world,
but THEIR world."

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."
~ Proverbs 16:24

Printable Issue 5519  Today is Friday, January 2nd, 2026; Karen's Korner #5519
Who doesn;t want to be perect? Not possible in this life. But then there is God!

Number two of "Three Stages of Perfection".

The first one was "Perfect Relationship" - "We are perfect because of our eternal union with the infinitely perfect Christ."

Number 2:

"Perfect Progress"

"We can grow and mature spiritually as we continue to trust Christ, learn more about him, draw closer to him, and obey him. Our progress is changeable (not like above) because it depends on our daily walk at times in life we mature more than at other times. But we are growing toward perfection if we 'work toward it'. These good works do not perfect us, rather as God perfects us, we do good works for him. (See Philippians 3:1 - 15)"

Printable Issue 5520  Today is Saturday, January 3rd, 2026; Karen's Korner #5520
Saturday fun! Since I didn't get a Karen's Korner out on Monday, to get to '5' - one on Saturday!

Today's Sarah Young and her "Jesus Calling:  Enjoying Peace in His Presence":

"Refresh Yourself in the Peace of My Presence. This Peace can be your portion at all times and in all circumstances. Learn to hide in the secret of My Presence, even as you carry out your duties in the world. I am both with you and within you. I go before you to open up the way, and I also walk alongside you. There could never be another companion as devoted as I am.

"Because I am your constant Companion, there should be a lightness to your step that is observable to others. Do not be weighted down with problems and unresolved issues, for I am your burden-bearer. In the world you have trials and distress, but don't let them get you down.
I have conquered the world and deprived it of power to harm you. In Me you may have confident Peace."

~ Taken from Psalm 31:19-20 (NASB); John 16:33 (AMP)

Printable Issue 5521  Today is Monday, January 5th, 2026; Karen's Korner #5521

Paul is the writer for Ephesians:

"Long ago, before He made the world,

God chose us to be His very own,

through what Christ would do for us;

He decided then to make us holy in His Eyes,

without a single fault---

we who stand before Him covered with His Love.

His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into Him own family

by sending Jesus Christ to die for us.

And He did this because He wanted to!"

~ Ephesians 3:3 - 5 LAB

*

Bible Commentary on these verses:  "Paul said, 'God chose us,' to emphasize that salvation depends totally on God. We are not saved because we deserve it, but because God is gracious and freely gives it. We did not influence God's decision to save us; He did it according to His plan. Thus there is no way to take credit for our salvation, or to find room for pride. The mystery of salvation originated in the timeless mind of God long before we existed. It is hard to understand how God could accept us, but because of Christ we are holy and blameless in His eyes. God chose you and me, and when we belong to Him through Jesus Christ, He looks at us as if we have never sinned."

Printable Issue 5522  Today is Tuesday, January 6th, 2026; Karen's Korner #5522

Today's Max Lucado. It is titled "Praying Bold Prayers". When I read it, I think I might be good a praying bold prayers but do I believe that they will be answered as just asked? I want to!

PRAYING BOLD PRAYERS

"How bold are your prayers? As John Wesley crossed the Atlantic, he was reading in his cabin and became aware of heavy winds knocking the ship off course. He responded in prayer. A colleague wrote it down:

"Almighty and everlasting God…Thou holdest the winds in thy fists and sittest upon the water floods…command those winds and these waves that they obey Thee. Take us speedily and safely to the haven whither we would go.

"Having offered the prayer, Wesley took up his book and continued reading. On deck his colleague found calm winds and the ship on course. Wesley made no mention of the answered prayer. His friend wrote, So fully did he expect to be heard that he took it for granted he was heard.

"How bold are your prayers?"
