Today is Thursday, November 22nd, 2007; Karen's Korner #1194
This writing was passed along to me by Dorothy Riekens several weeks ago:
Count your blessings instead of your crosses.
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes.
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears.
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean.
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth.
Count on God instead of yourself.
for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus."
~ I Thessalonians 5:18
And a Thanksgiving Prayer I received this morning from Shirley Choat:
A Thanksgiving Prayer
"O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
