Today is Thursday, October 23rd, 2008; Karen's Korner #1429

Life continues:  campaigns go on, the election looms, the stock market was down a big number again yesterday. Add to that any personal dilemmas:  health issues, personal finances, family issues.

So from where does any joy come??

Psalm 147 says joy comes from God and we can give that joy back to Him by our worship and praise (in part):

"Hallelujah! Yes, praise the Lord!
How good it is to sing His praises!
How delightful and how right!

He heals the broken-hearted, binding up their wounds.
He counts the stars and calls them all by name.
How great He is!
His power is absolute!
His understanding is unlimited.
The Lord supports the humble, but brings the wicked into the dust.

Sing out your thanks to Him; sing praises to our God....
He covers the heavens with clouds,
sends down the showers and makes the green grow in mountain pastures.
But His joy is in those who reverence Him,
those who expect Him to be loving and kind.

Praise Him, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!
He sends His orders to the world. How swiftly His word flies.

Hallelujah!
Yes, praise the Lord!
