Today is Monday, November 30th, 2009; Karen's Korner #1706

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, we start to think and plan for Christmas.

Like most people, the home decorating begins in earnest this past weekend.

I am no exception.

I have a stash of boxes, bags, and containers to paw through as I put out our holiday treasures; some of them many decades old.

When we first were married, Jim's mom bought as some pieces to a nativity set:  three larger wise men which they brought back with them from a trip to Mexico and three smaller pieces which she bought for me as a Christmas gift from a local jewelry store.

One-by-one items were unbundled yesterday.

All the nativity pieces were stored together in one box and gently wrapped in discarded newspaper and taped shut for their protection. All of them were in the same box.....except for Jesus who was lying in his manager.

The longer I searched, I thought, "I know it has to be here if I put it away last year."

After lots of opening of boxes, I found the missing piece, along with several other smaller treasures in one of my holiday tins.

As I was putting the last piece in my nativity display, I had another thought, "What is the point of Christmas if there is no Jesus?"
