America, Never Forget!
"Israel has forgotten his Maker."
~ Hosea 8:14
Carlos Romulo (1899 - 1985), a Philippine general renowned for his heroic
activities during World War II, issued this charge to us Americans:
"Never forget, Americans, that yours is a spiritual country.
Yes, I know you're a practical people.
Like others, I've marveled at your factories,
your skyscrapers, and your arsenals.
But underlying everything else is the fact that
America began as a God-loving, God-fearing, God-worshipping people."
Patriot's Prayer:
"Lord, liberate the minds of unbelievers that they may recognize
the true foundation of our great land.
May I be a witness to Your glory on earth.
You are the Author and Finisher of my faith.
Use me to help others come to faith in You."
Patriot's Promise:
"Psalm 103:2 says, 'Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.'
The psalm lists some of those benefits, which result in the promise
that our youth will be renewed like the eagle (v.5).
When we remember God's goodness to us--
and we may we never forget--
we can soar spiritually."
