Today is Monday, May 28th, 2012; Karen's Korner #2326

Happy Memorial Day; a time to remember veterans who served and gave their lives, in their service to our country, so that we may live with a number of freedoms, which we sometimes take for granted. Today is a good day to attend a memorial service in our local communities or visit graves of loved ones.

Below is a prayer for protection of our current military people and all of us. I can't recall who wrote it nor where I got it:

"O Prince of Peace, we humbly ask Your protection for all our men
and women in military service. Give them unflinching courage to
defend with honor, dignity and devotion the rights of all who are
imperiled by injustice and evil. Guard our churches, our homes,
our schools, our hospitals, our factories, our buildings, and all
those within from harm and peril. Protect our land and its people
from enemies within and without. Grant an early peace with victory
founded upon justice. Instill in the hearts and minds of me and
men and women everywhere a firm purpose to live forever in peace and
good will towards all. Amen."
