Today is Wednesday, January 13th, 2016; Karen's Korner #3223

In Max Lucado's new book "before AMEN", he focuses on a simple 'pocket prayer'.

He begins by confessing that 'some people would rather pray than sleep. Why is it that I sleep when I pray?'

I join Max!

So he gives us a simple prayer to 'keep in our pockets':

Father,
You are good.
I need help. Heal me and forgive me.
They need help.
Thank you.
In Jesus' name,
Amen

Then Lucado expands on the "Father" portion:

Father---Help me see you as my Daddy who cherishes me and holds me through anything and everything.

You are good---You are a loving Dad who knows what is best for me.

I need help---Will you help me have the humble and contrite heart you desire when I talk with you? I confess that my heart isn't always in the right place.

They need help---People all over the world think they have to be a certain type of person or have to say the right words in the right place to pray to you. I pray for protection from the enemy, who wants to rob people of true, intimate conversation with you.

Thank you---Thank you for showing us how to pray and for being a patient Daddy.

In Jesus' name, amen.
