Today is Friday, July 1st, 2016; Karen's Korner #3345

On Tuesday morning, I dropped in to Caroline and Herman Heimstra's home where their church holds its weekly prayer times. The two were dressed up, as they celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.

The two are 91 and 90 respectively, remarrying after both losing spouses to death.

I can recall a couple of years ago being some place where they were, and Caroline saying, "Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary."

Really, was my response. "How long have you two been married?" I asked.

"Seventeen years and ten months," was her answer.

Herman chimed in, "We were so old when we got married (71 and 72), we decided we'd better celebrate each month!"

Tuesday Herman added, "I never thought we see nineteen years together. Six or seven maybe."

"This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."

~ Psalm 118:24 LAB

So like Herman and Caroline, today is a good day to 'rejoice', or 'celebrate'! Because we have no idea what tomorrow holds! Is it six or seven years maybe. Or an unbelievable 19! Or?

You pick the number!
