Today is election day in the United States. We sometimes tire of the advertisements and bombarding messages, but we need to remember what a privilege we have in selecting the people to represent us and our views in various levels of governments. Many countries are not so fortunate.
As I heard it said recently, as Christians we are to be 'salt and light' wherever we go. Voting is one of those opportunities, as we seek to select people who most closely identify with our views. Elected people work for us, so we need to let our voices be heard.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives, and the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 'Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?"
~ Matthew 7:7-9

Written by Anne Graham Lotz, Honorary Chairman, National Day of Prayer Task Force, 2014:
"Lord of the Universe. Lord of the Planet. Lord of the nations. Lord of our hearts. In response to our heartfelt repentance, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Father of Jesus Christ, in keeping with all Your righteous acts and according to Your promise, turn away Your anger and wrath from the United State of America. For the glory of Your Name hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land. We ask this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ who offers us salvation from Your judgment, forgiveness for our sin, and reconciliation with You through His own blood shed on the Cross. Amen."
