Today is Thursday, December 1st, 2016; Karen's Korner #3449

OUR IOWA magazine always has some 'sayings' included vertical in the margins of many of the pages of each edition.

There are some good ones in its Holiday Issue just out.

I am including a handful for today's Karen's Korner; I really liked them! I will have another installment in one of next week's 'korners':

"My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple:

loving others."

~ Bob Hope

*

"Time spent in getting even would be better spent in getting ahead."

*

"The older generation thought nothing of getting up at 5 every morning,

and the younger generation doesn't think much of it either."

*

"Daily prayer lessen daily cares."

*

"A society grows when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in."

~ Greek proverb

*

"There is nothing like 20 below to make you appreciate 20 above."

*

* "Real abundance is found when we join hands with the ones we love."

*

"Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone."

~ Charles M. Schultz
