Today is Friday, October 30th, 2020; Karen's Korner #4329

Several days ago my
cousin Glenys sent me this pass-around email. Who knows if the stories are
true or not. But they are certainly heart warmers. Here are a few of them:

** Today, after
my 72-hour shift at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery
store and gave me a hug. When I tensed up, she realized I didn't recognize
her. She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and the most sincere smile and
said,
"On
9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Center.

** Today, after I watched my dog get
run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And,
just before he died, he licked the tears off my face.

**  Today at 7AM, I woke up feeling
ill, but decided I needed the money, so I went into work. At 3PM I got laid
off. On my drive home I got a flat tire. When I went into the trunk for the
spare, it was flat too. A man in a BMW pulled over and gave me a ride. We
chatted. And, then he offered me a job. I start tomorrow.

** Today, when I witnessed a
27-year-old breast cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old
daughter's antics, I suddenly realized that, I need to stop complaining about
my life and start celebrating it again.

This one I know is
true because it happened to me:

Several years ago, I was part of a team who traveled to Guatemala for a week
plus to volunteer at an orphanage which also had its own school.

But the ministry had branched out to build homes. We visited several of their
homes, which would not have met any standard in the U.S.

One home was owned by a lady who was in her 90s. The house was a one-room
block abode with a dirt floor. So much better than anything she had ever
lived in, as many homes were cardboard boxes or tin shanties.

She was grateful for her home and for the care of those who had built and
provided the funds for it.  Before we left, she wanted to pray for all
of us. Asking God to continue to provide for each of  us!

Even the poorest among our team probably owned 100 times what she had, yet
she wanted God to bless us!
