A couple of verses from Jesus' talking and teaching; telling about loving others and giving to them. Perfect time of year, as many of you are good of doing just that!

"Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don't be concerned about the fact that they won't repay. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as sons of God; for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are very wicked.

"Try to show as much compassion as your Father does."

Bible Commentary:  "Love means action. One way to put love to work is to take the initiative in meeting specific needs. This is easy to do with people who love us, people whom we trust; but love means doing this even to those who dislike us or plan to hurt us. The money we give to others should be considered a gift, not a point of leverage or an IOU. Give it as though you are giving it to God."
