Happy Friday! This is my last day to fill in for my mom. Thanks for the chance to share! I think doing this for a few weeks was fun. Mom will take the reins back on Monday and get to celebrate #500 next week!
I've been thinking about the topic of joy this week. I had the pleasure to meet up with four college friends for dinner on Tuesday. We were catching up over dinner and conversation led to joy. One person is living in California in an affluent area. She has been going to a bible study during the day with mostly middle aged women. She was at first intimidated at their outward appearances. She has continued to go and get to know these people at a deeper level. One specific person was sharing on a deeper level about the lack of joy in her life. She had several valid reasons for her concerns. Kirsten reminded her about the gift that God gives us. He gives us joy in the midst of every life circumstances.
The five of us said that we would be aware of the joys in our life this week and email our thoughts to each other. Since our visit on Tuesday night, Luke has been sick with the flu over the past two days. This afternoon Luke was feeling better. I felt joy! He has been a very healthy boy in his short life.
There have been many other instances of joy in big and small ways I'm looking forward to our email update with my friends in a few days!
Experience the joy that God gives you today!
