Several days ago I received a 'late' Christmas letter. Or a '2026 early greeting'. It was from a friend who years ago lived in Clarion.
There were two boxed greetings in the heading followed by a half-dozen paragraphs of text:
GRATEFUL & BLESSED 2025
"I am the light of the world;
he that follows me shall not
walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life."
~ John 8:12 KJV
She followed with a lengthy paragraph of explanation of how much she enjoys lighthouses: part of her home decor; reading about them; putting together puzzles; traveling to visit several. One time recently even spending a night in an 'actual' lighthouse.
Paragraph #2: "When I write this letter, I like to share how much my faith means to me. I have included the Scriptures above (and below) that refer to light. Our true light is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Yes, Jesus is the light of the world. It is so very important to follow Jesus, He will guide us and He is always with us. When we give our life to Jesus we will have eternal life and live in the light. Lighthouses are needed to guide ships safely on the waters, Jesus guides us safely here on earth, and then to our home in Heaven."
She went on to tell of their family and some of their, and her, events of the past year.
The final Bible verse at the end of the letter:
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path."
~ Psalm 119:105 KJV
