"Secret Service"

Bored with hanging around the house, Jessica moved off the couch and looked for her mom. She found her sorting laundry in the basement. "Mom, remember when we used to spend the day downtown and we'd find fun ways to help others?"

Her mom nodded and smiled.  "Yeah, it used to be great spending the day with you and spreading Christ's love. What do you say we get out of the house and spend the afternoon doing someting like that again? After all summer is almost over, and you will back in school soon."

Jessica and her mom pooled their spare change and grabbed some supplies before leaving. They parked near the bus station and walked along the tree-lined streets offering to pay bus fare for travelers. They washed car windows for people at the gas station, too.

"Mom, I think God would be pleased with how we spent our day. I'm just sorry we didn't do this sooner. I forgot how great it feels to help others."

GALATIANS 5:13 -- "You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature: rather, serve one another in love."
